How to succeed in a time of famine – Part II
In the first installment of how to thrive in times of famine ( click here to read Part I), we studied some rules governing general prosperity in all seasons, especially the hungry season. These are the laws of obedience and productivity, and virtually guarantee that you are ready to prosper during the famine. The first two laws on the position itself, even after the famine began to receive the blessings promised by God. Now, we see two people who took the final step of God's plan for prosperity, or while under the obedience operations and be productive, they heard the voice of God and follow his plan to the letter. This allowed them to enter the kingdom elusive overflow and becomes both a blessing to those around them. This process has great prosperity and success of these two in time of famine, human Faith of Isaac, and the man with the vision of Joseph.
Isaac: man of faith
First, Isaac see that remember the offspring of the blessing promised to Abraham and Sarah's age advanced. Its mere existence is a miracle, (especially because of the high mortality in the days and the stage of a normal pregnancy lasts anyone in his tribe of desert nomads would have been very rare.) Yet Here, Isaac was now leading his own large group travel on the same land that his father, and family circumstances of serious hunger:
Gen 26:1 And there was famine in the land, beside the first famine that was at the time of Abraham.
Isaac had seen such things as a child, and he had seen his father in front of his success. If we are blessed with the leadership strengths that have preceded us, we are encouraged to follow his footsteps and try to repeat their success. Isaac has been a leader in his father Abraham, then when famine struck probably wanted to do what his father did when he experienced a similar famine. When Isaac was young, his father Abraham, who follows the command of God, came to Egypt and wait for the hunger in the land of plenty. What is important to note here is that God changed the plan of Isaac, and Isaac had a personal relationship with God so hard to listen and follow the new guidelines. Genesis 26:1 – 3 tells the story:
Gen 26:1 And there was famine in the floor beside the first famine that was at the time of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar.
Gen 26:2 And the LORD appeared to him and said, Go not down into Egypt, remains in the country I'll tell you:
Gen 26:3 Sojourn in this country, and I'll be with you and bless you, because you and your descendants I give all these lands, and make the oath I swore to Abraham your father;
Is not it amazing that God knows your weak plan, including Before doing so, and it has already charted a new path for success. We just have to follow. Isaac had a good idea to try to imitate his father, but he made the wrong thing to copy. I need to copy the obedience of Abraham, and not necessarily copy your exact steps.
In this time, God repeats the blessing Isaac had talked about his father. Good thing, because I am sure that Isaac was at that time issue All the stories he had told his father about his fate. In this when there was hunger in the brain, and has certainly been highlighted in all mouths to feed and all those who depended on him. This movement was certainly authentic. I am sure it is very tempting to go to Egypt and leave the fertile burning desert was tormented by hunger. However, Isaac was categorical and obeyed God, following instructions completely. So what is the reason for their loyalty?
Genesis 26:12 and Isaac sowed in the country, and received the same year a hundredfold, and the LORD blessed him.
100 times! If this number is not excited, I want to explain more show information in vernacular today. This means that if Isaac was alive today and took $ 50.00 to check the first week of January that he would receive $ 5000.00 year end of year $ 50.00. If you invest $ 50.00/week throughout the year (like many of us do when we throw the money away through our 401k) would mean a return of $ 260,000.00 of its total investment of $ 2600.00, over year. Hooray! It makes you think about investing your money. The mandate of the God of Isaac sowed his seeds in the seeds were not expected to grow, the arid deserts. In our own will, we plant the seeds should we think, our appetites, hungry, our homes, our cars, our 401k, than be disappointed by the statement. We must listen to God's direction, even if it means waiting and keep money until we heard his voice. I wish I had expected and place money on the market over the last 2 years the mattress was a better investment than the market.
The lesson of Isaac, that he had an ear to the voice of God, and he is listening carefully. Due to his faith has been able to prosper and containment are his people. Think about it, it is very possible this windfall has laid the foundations of wealth that is transferred to the 12 tribes of Israel. Not only the important material blessing, but a previous to seek God in the financial affairs has been prepared and sent to Jacob (Israel) and to 12 tribes. This spiritual heritage is up So far, the nation of Israel and its people have remained scattered managers advised of the richness of God for centuries. This is the kind of the spiritual heritage that we all want to get out: a strong relationship and connection to God continually blesses.
Joseph Human vision
We also have an excellent example of Joseph. Just a couple generations of Isaac, Joseph (a son of Jacob 12) God uses principles of obedience and productivity to navigate a personal opinion of slavery in prison and then, then the nation is ready the most powerful World hunger paralyzed.
Everyone knows the story of Joseph in Genesis 37. He is a dreamer who God has ordained to rule, but sharing his dream with his jealous brothers, who sell him into slavery and left for dead. Miraculously, he is the slave of a rich and powerful man and is given free to all property. As a slave obeys and productive, and is a great blessing, but God has a bigger plan for him. It allows Joseph to be imprisoned by the false testimony of the wife of his master, who was making inappropriate advances toward Joseph. But even in prison, he became as powerful as the guardian prison and was able to use his gift of dream interpretation to help a man very close to Pharaoh. Modification of Pharaoh, is plagued by dreams that he sent to Joseph, whose fame had been reported to the royal court. This is particularly important consider is how Jose responded to the call of the Pharaoh and confidence in their gift:
Gen 41:16 And Joseph said Pharaoh, saying, is not in me: God give Pharaoh an answer of peace.
This is the same humble spirit residing in the real men God. He immediately gave credit to God so that there is no mistake that has been the source of powerful gift. At this moment of revelation Jose Pharaohs dream of God
Gen 41:29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt;
Gen 41:30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine, and all the abundance will be forgotten in the land of Egypt, and the famine shall consume the land;
Gen 41:31 and abundance is not known on earth because of that famine following because it is very painful.
God also gave Joseph the general plan of how to deal with the famine that is a plan that Joseph gave to Pharaoh freely. Store up surplus over the seven years of plenty, and use this surplus over the seven years of famine. Scripture says: "A little leaven Package" Overall, if Joseph was careful not to add or subtract words of God. Remember, at this time, Jose is still a slave, a nobody, and now Pharaoh in a stalemate. Joseph could happen the solution to the rescue of Pharaoh, in exchange for his freedom or maybe perhaps in exchange for land and money. Because of the reverence of Joseph the Word of God and faith that makes Pharaoh
Gen 41:41 And Pharaoh said Joseph: Look, I made the whole land of Egypt.
Gen 41:57 And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph to buy wheat, because the famine was so sore in all countries.
Talk about rags to riches! And they said his dreams were useless! Joseph, Through his faith and obedience, literally saved thousands and thousands of people from starvation. When there is no food, no matter how much of gold you have, or the size of your home, our number of cars you drive. During the hunger full stomach is better than all these things. Not different from what was then.
Joseph stuck to the plan of God and it makes him very powerful and able to save his family were just one of many countries "came into Egypt to Joseph to buy corn." He became the most powerful man of his time, even more powerful than Pharaoh himself. And all I had to do was listen to God and the plan. Could it really be that simple? YES! This is which makes us God's plan with the leaven of our doubts and fears and plans for backup.
Why these two designated and an overwhelming most blessed?
These stories raise the question: Why these two men so miraculously blessed others in times of famine? I am sure there were others the blessing of God faithfully to increase and become productive with their God-given talents and skills. Why these two? 3 reasons.
1. Both had strong personal relationships with God
2. Its prosperity is less than the blessing and more about the blessing of those who have served and
3. Both were son's heritage and legacy
We have the same opportunities to be extremely happy because we share the same traits. In Christ, we are co-heirs of the blessing of Abraham, are also children's heritage and legacy. Because, like Christ before us we are called to save others, our surplus is still intended redistribution to the people of God according to His purpose. Overflow is not just about us. Y, because we have the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we have a line of communication directly with the Almighty, a personal relationship with the living God.
If there you have it! No need to fear or apprehension during deep recession. If we simply follow the plan and God bless our increase regardless of the large or small, if we continue to be productive with our God gives gifts and talents, if we refine our skills and invest in the cultivation of new skills, and if following God's plan for us, a customized plan for us, we will have the same success. God is no respecter of persons, but to respect and respond to the faith. Isaac-like faith and obedience to produce a blessing from Isaac-like, with faith, like Joseph, any point in history in which we live.
Isa 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the country
