How to finance an engagement ring? I have a decent down payment, but not enough to pay cash?

Specifically saved $ 2,000 for the ring. I would buy a princess cut diamond set white gold. I was thinking about a two-carat stone, but will probably go with a 1.98ct or site out there to save money, since it is close enough to 2, and once the target 2CT, the price jumps significantly.) I want a Verragio setting Lumino, but could have a local jeweler design have been copied, so to speak … I own a house, IRA, 401k, has a safety net for 6-8 months and am in The road to retirement (not yet exist, of course, but the plan is ongoing.) This $ 2k that I have saved is literally set apart specifically for the ring. I've been with my girlfriend for 5 years and have been living together for more than a year. She is the only and I am ready to propose. I'm looking for creative options funding, other than dealer financing or the tossing of loans on credit cards or HELOC. Anybody ever taken a part-time work in a jewelry to save money? I 25yrsold

I used to work at a jewelry shop, a popular chain. I can say that this discount is awesome. nothing I wanted was cost + 15%. managers and asst. mgrs has elements of their cost. For example, I have a diamond engagement ring $ 2000 for about $ 550. i did not get work to get the engagement ring – I actually bought that ring for me as a birthstone ring, as it was so beautiful. However, while you can get jewelry at deep discounts, some of the extras you get when you buy retail do not apply to sale items – one being the security of diamonds in which if a stone is chipped or knocked out completely and can not be found, replacing with the same quality for free, for life. it is very important – And perhaps not something to mess around with. Always make sure you have that kind of warranty. working in that shop, I know that things like that can happen and can be devastating and costly. Hope this helps.
